Bookstore Specialist
The Bookstore Specialist is responsible for assisting the Bookstore Manager with all operations of the campus bookstore. The individual in this position directly supports the Bookstore Manager.
This is a non-exempt, non-faculty full-time "Paraprofessional/Technical" position. II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS The Bookstore Specialist reports to the Bookstore Manager and receives instruction from that office. III.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
• Assist Bookstore Manager with all operations of the campus bookstore
• Open and close bookstore daily
• Prepare daily receipts and deposits
• Handle daily counter sales
• Provide all customers with excellent customer service
• Assist students, parents, faculty, and staff with inquiries and purchases
• Be knowledgeable and able to respond to inquiries about store merchandise and course books and supplies
• Receive and stock merchandise
• Assist with administration of online bookstore website and sales
• Assist with maintaining accurate physical inventory
• Assist with ordering and returning merchandise
• Assist with book buybacks
• Assist with customer issues and merchandise returns
• Utilize store software proficiently
• Ensure bookstore is stocked, clean, and merchandise is displayed in an appealing manner at all times
• Sort daily mail and deliveries from UPS, Federal Express, USPS and other carriers
• Promote the bookstore on campus
• Assist with completion of various projects for the Business Office
• Perform other related duties as needed or assigned IV.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduation from an accredited high school.
• Ability to learn and retain information regarding store merchandise and course books and supplies.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write correspondence, memos, and letters.
• Good command of the written English language, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, supervisor, faculty, staff, students and other employees of State Technical College of Missouri.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to use various software products efficiently.
• Superior typing and computer operation skills.
