Paratransit Non-CDL Driver to transport disabled passengers to various locations throughout the RFTA Paratransit Group Service Area, initially based in Glenwood Springs. Part-time, on-call and must have flexible Schedule and ability to pick up variety of shifts, with no set schedule. Pay at 20.15/hour, 2 weeks Paid training, no benefits for part-time, on-call position.
ABOUT RFTA Paratransit:
RFTA Paratransit is a transportation service available to anyone that has a disability which prevents their having access to transportation available to the general public, in their area. The program provides accessible, curb-to-curb, demand-responsive, driver assisted transportation to areas served by the RFTA Paratransit Group.
OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES: (See detailed Job Description for additional information and requirements)
Operates a Paratransit (cutaway) vehicle to transport disabled passengers to various locations throughout the RFTA Paratransit Group Service Area. Must adhere to the Paratransit "On-Call" policy for operators
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Assists passengers, as needed, at pick-up, as well as into and out of passengers' destinations;
2. Assists passengers, as needed, with boarding and de-boarding the Paratransit vehicle;
3. Ensures that each passenger is safely secured in his or her seat before transporting begins;
4. Collects applicable fees for the transportation service;
5. Ensures that passengers have a safe, comfortable, and expedient traveling experience;
6. Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting vehicle conditions and ridership numbers;
7. Performs other duties as assigned by the Paratransit Supervisor; and
8. Documentation of days' pick-ups and drop offs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License - CDL Not required
Paratransit Bus Operator Training (provided by Paratransit personnel prior to first "show-up" assignment)
Successful completion of a Department of Transportation medical exam, validated by documented Medical Card that is valid for a minimum of 1 year of duration.
Some experience working with seniors and/or disabled persons is preferred.
