This position will assume the media communication, public relations and event planting needs for the Department of Communication & Theatre Arts, including its seven programs (Communication, Dance, Film, Lifespan & Digital Communications MA, Online, Public relations, Theatre). This position is in charge of key internal and external communications tools for the department as well as serving as the department’s chief content strategist. The position is intended to advance the department’s reputation through purposeful creative and messaging that is tied to the College & University’s brand and mission as well as the strategic initiatives of the department.
Required Qualifications: Working knowledge of web design principles, printing processes, graphic formats, and effective design and photography principles. Excellent writing, editing, verbal, and presentation skills.
Excellent knowledge of marketing principles. Proficiency in Photoshop or other photo-editing programs. Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of management and supervisory techniques. Master’s degree in communications, marketing, or public relations, or a related field. Considerable work experience in marketing, public relations, strategic communications, or related field. Some experience working with advancement and development professionals, including writing proposals for solicitation.
