Position Summary:
High Plains Surgery Center in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a dedicated and experienced Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical team. As a key member of the operating room, the Circulator RN plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced, ambulatory surgical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Function as the primary circulating nurse in the operating room for a variety of surgical specialties
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort throughout the perioperative process
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub techs, and other OR staff to support safe and effective surgical care
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring proper equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning
- Monitor and document patient status, surgical counts, medications, and other key elements according to facility policy
- Assist with positioning, prepping, and transporting patients as needed
- Uphold infection control and sterile technique standards at all times
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and surgical team needs
- Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and continuing education as required
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Wyoming (or compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of OR experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical rotations may be considered
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- PALS certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
- Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or major holidays
