Job Title: Full-Time Circulator Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: High Plains Surgery Center – Cheyenne, Wyoming

Reports To: Clinical Director



Position Summary:

High Plains Surgery Center in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a dedicated and experienced Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical team. As a key member of the operating room, the Circulator RN plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced, ambulatory surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as the primary circulating nurse in the operating room for a variety of surgical specialties
  • Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort throughout the perioperative process
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub techs, and other OR staff to support safe and effective surgical care
  • Prepare the operating room by ensuring proper equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning
  • Monitor and document patient status, surgical counts, medications, and other key elements according to facility policy
  • Assist with positioning, prepping, and transporting patients as needed
  • Uphold infection control and sterile technique standards at all times
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and surgical team needs
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and continuing education as required

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Wyoming (or compact license)
  • Minimum 1 year of OR experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical rotations may be considered
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
