Job Description
LOCATION: Bush Education Center
Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 8 hours per day, 12 months per year
This is a leadership position for a center consisting of 100 staff, 32 distinct services and an annual budget in excess of $14,000,000. The Computer Services/Regional Information Center operates its services from a centrally Managed IT framework, one Directory of Services, a regional dark-fiber Wide Area Network interconnecting over 60 buildings via two Network Operation Centers 60 miles apart servicing roughly 20,000 networked computers with thousands of ancillary devices.
- Responsible for the overall operation and direction of the Center’s technology function including the strategic design, acquisition, management and implementation of the technology infrastructure and technology-related services to meet district/customer changing needs
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining technology standards necessary for a regional and centrally managed IT function and ensuring compliance with federal/state laws, regulations and organizational policies.
- Develop and manage the Center’s budget and multiple service budgets
- Oversee the development of Disaster Recovery Planning, Systems Security and Cyber Security Plans to ensure the safe access and storage of district/customer data and information
- Participate with the New York State Education Department in planning and developing technology services for educational purposes
- Serve as one of twelve Directors on the statewide Regional Information Center Directors Council
- Serve as a member of the GST BOCES Cabinet
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations, including directing/managing/evaluating programmers/Web developers, testing/data collection staff, technology coordinators and Center supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thorough knowledge of information technology systems, procedures, networking, telecommunications, and applications;
- Thorough knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of management;
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others; strong leadership and communication skills;
- New York State certification as School District Leader, School District Administrator, School District Business Leader or School Business Administrator OR meet the following Civil Service requirements:
Either:
(A) Possession of a Master's Degree and two (2) years of management, supervisory or administrative experience in computer services; or
(B) Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Baccalaureate Degree and four (4) years of management, supervisory or administrative experience in computer services.
