General Maintenance Worker
FSI would like to hire a general maintenance worker to join our team. This position performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and
knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
Responsibilities
• Replaces belts and filters on air handling units.
• Utilizes plaster/compound to patch minor holes/cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repairs; replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Paints structures and equipment as required.
• Performs Landscaping and Lawn Maintenance
• Inspects/repairs damaged interior infrastructure surfaces as needed.
• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery, as assigned.
• Follows company's safety, health and accident prevention plan while maintaining records in a timely fashion.
• All other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Six months to one-year related experience and/or training. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or 100 lbs. occasionally, squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions. Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire. Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assist others as part of the maintenance team as required and perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
HVAC Mechanic
The HVAC Mechanic will perform heating, ventilations, and air-conditioning mechanic installation, perform preventive maintenance and repairs environmental-control systems and equipment. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. Clean, adjust and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
Responsibilities
• Manage heating, ventilation & cooling equipment such as fans, vacuum pumps, air compressors, vents and ducts, and lubrication oil coolers used in buildings or industrial processes by performing the following duties
• Install, service and repair environmental-control systems in residences, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipe-fitting, and structural layout
• Mount compressors and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications
• Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment
• Install evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system, using hand tools
• Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools
• Join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant
• Install expansion and discharge valves in circuit
• Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source
• Install air and water filters in completed installation
• Inject small amount of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and add Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure
• Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to insure proper operation
• Test joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap and water solution
• Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secures them in place with cement or wire bands
• Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment
• May install, repair and service air conditioners, ranging from fifteen to twenty tons cooling capacity, in warehouses and small factory buildings
• Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
• One (1)-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• All state or federal license requirements; or any licenses or certificates that may be required by the contract in which the employee is working.
