Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is a key member of the Deeper Green Consulting (DGC) leadership team. The Operations Manager is responsible for directing the daily operations of our green building consulting and building performance services. As a hands-on leader, the Operations Manager will ensure both staff and contracted team members are aligned to deliver projects efficiently and with the highest quality standards. This position is a new role for our company and will require a person who can; understand project objectives, quickly develop a concise plan, and manage the plan to completion. Projects will require independent research, the ability to apply industry standards, building science principles, and construction knowledge to deliver a complete solution for customers. We are looking for an effective leader, a natural self-starter, someone who can take charge and produce results without constant oversight.
The Operations Manager will be required to ensure compliance with Deeper Green Procedures, Industry Standards, OSHA and other safety practices while working.
Job Requirements:
The Operations Manager will apply their technical skills, team management, and leadership ability to direct project teams and ensure implementation of operational procedures. Our services include green building certifications, design/build consulting services, performance assessments, building operations, and existing building performance improvements.
Manage teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Manage operational priorities and align team resources to ensure projects and customer deliverables are on schedule.
Ensure we are proactive with customer communications and status updates.
Primary contact to receive project concerns, customer suggestions, and implementation issues. Responsible for assessing the situation, making initial decisions, determine next steps, and engage additional resources as needed.
Communicate with customers, informing them about the project scope, the work to be performed, what DGC needs to complete the work, and anticipated schedule.
Ensure proper amounts of materials are in stock based on upcoming jobs schedule, order materials as needed. Maintain accurate counts of inventory items, organize storage as needed.
Coach and train staff and contractors to ensure projects are completed to DGC standards. Coordinate subcontractors, identify additional contracts to expand our network, determine contractor fit with DGC standards, verify new contractors are maintaining the highest quality standards.
Develop and improve operation procedures as the business continues to expand services.
Qualifications:
A commitment to and enthusiasm for energy efficiency and building performance.
Attention to detail and ability to develop project plans and improve operating procedures for consulting services and the installation of building performance improvements.
Physically able to fulfill job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying and climbing step ladders, entering attics, basements and crawlspaces, and using small tools and installation equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical concepts and program information verbally and in writing.
5+ years of construction or related experience with a basic knowledge of carpentry, building materials, HVAC, energy efficiency, or renewable energy.
Working knowledge of building codes and general industry standards.
Knowledge of residential energy assessments evaluating factors such as insulation, appliances, HVAC systems, lighting and electrical systems, moisture and air quality that affect home energy use, durability, safety and comfort.
Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
A valid driver's license, clean driving record, dependable transportation, and the ability to travel daily to job sites.
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Must have a clean criminal background
