The Albemarle County Attorney's Office is seeking to hire a legal services coordinator to join its dedicated team of six attorneys and two paralegals. This position affords significant responsibilities and an excellent professional working environment in downtown Charlottesville, surrounded by beautiful Albemarle County, one of the most attractive and desirable locations in Virginia, with excellent school systems, low crime and unemployment rates, and a wide range of cultural, historic and recreational activities. This position will be responsible to support the County Attorney; draft ordinances, resolutions, and other documents; support the executive summary and agreements processes; prepare and oversee the office budget; serve as the office's procurement and contract manager, and the office manager; oversee support staff functions and workloads; mentor and implement cross-training for support staff; oversee staffing changes for employees and interns; perform administrative and clerical functions; and maintain office files. Applicants should enjoy working independently, be highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Experience or education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and five years of experience in a responsible administrative or paralegal capacity is required. Experience in legal office management with supervisory responsibilities, public administration, and local government law preferred. Full-time permanent position with excellent benefits package.
